Developed as an entry for Team Aqua’s ROM Hacking Competition, this hack acts as a proof of concept with a strong focus on battle mechanics. Featuring a completely unique asymmetrical battle system, powerful ability customization, and story-driven boss encounters, Pokémon Recordkeepers offers a challenging and experimental Pokémon experience unlike traditional ROM hacks.

Story

You play as Tiana, a newly appointed Recordkeeper tasked with uncovering the truth behind ancient myths and folktales. Each story presents unique challenges and powerful enemies that require careful strategy rather than brute force. As you overcome trials, you unlock new abilities and moves that can be equipped to your Pokémon, allowing you to build creative combinations never seen before. Failure is expected — learning, adapting, and retrying is a core part of the experience.
